Alex Wang

Head Classical Piano Teacher

 

Alex Wang, is a pianist who is continually exploring the connections between all aspects of life and music. As an avid fitness enthusiast, the physicality of his technique is balanced with introspective moments of performance. Alex not only has vast experience collaborating with instrumentalists and singers in both solo and choir settings but has a particular affinity for working with singers. Most recently he was a pianist at Songfest, and the music director/pianist for Nóżki Opera.

As a soloist he was a repeat winner of first prizes in many local festivals, in addition he also competed in the Canadian Chopin Piano competition and the Canadian Music Competition, among others. He performed many times with CAST Philharmonic and played for recitals at the Consulate General RP in Toronto. Alex is a graduate of the Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance program at the Manhattan School of Music, where he studied with Professor Daniel Epstein.

Alex has been teaching piano since 2018 and has substituted for many local studios and teachers. Alex has worked with a wide range of skill levels and age groups, from complete beginner to coaching young professionals. He looks to develop in students a strong interest and curiosity for music while still applying the fundamental pillars of technique and musicianship. Alex believes that every student has the potential to be uniquely good and will work to strengthen their special qualities.
